MOD is the name of tapeless video format used by JVC, Panasonic, and Canon in some models of digital camcorders. It is a file-based format which is stored on a random-access media. Video files that stored with MOD extension in MPEG-2 program stream container files are hardly playing on Mac with most popular media players, let alone edit them with video editing software. Yet, that doesn’t mean there is no way to play MOD files on Mac at all.
